| Terms of Payment |
|
On booking a course in advance, a non-refundable 20%
deposit is required. Deposit must be paid at least 4 weeks prior to the course starting date. The total course fees and accommodation costs must be fully paid not later than 2 weeks prior the course starting date. Fees are payable by direct Bank Transfer or by credit card. Students are kindly requested to fax a copy of the transfer documents to Skylark as soon as this transaction has been arranged with your bank. Bank charges for transfer of funds must be added to the school fees. A course voucher confirming registration details and a receipt for the deposit shall be mailed to all students once the enrolment form together with the deposit are received by the school. Students must present these documents on the first day of the course. In certain cases the remaining cost of the total fee can be paid on the first day of the course. The School is not open on public holidays. |
| Cancellations |
| When a cancellation takes place no later than 2
weeks before the starting date, all fees will be
refunded with 20% deposit and Bank transfer fees
deducted. There can be no refund if a student arrives
after the first day of the course, is absent during the
course or unable to complete the course. However, in
certain cases, the school may, at its discretion, offer
credit for a future course. |
| Insurance & Health Care |
| Course fees do not include insurance cover. Skylark
recommends that students take out a personal insurance
cover. We advise students to either check that their
insurance policy is valid in Malta or to take out a new
policy prior to their arrival. Students suffering from
any illness or disability are obliged to inform the
school upon registration - providing all relevant
details. Students are obliged to inform Skylark should
they be suffering from any illness and need special
dietary requirements. These students should provide all
relevant details on registration. While every effort shall be made by the school to accommodate these students' needs and wishes, the School reserves the right to recommend alternative dates and arrangements should this prove necessary. Since host families are not necessarily equipped to receive students with special needs, the School recommends that these be accommodated in hotels having the necessary facilities. |
| Causing Damage |
| If a student causes damage of any kind, the school
will ask for compensation. |
| Students under 18 Years of Age |
| Our personnel shall, as far as possible, pay
particular attention to the welfare of all minors.
However, participants under 18 years of age will only be
accepted upon presentation of a letter signed by one
parent or legal guardian confirming that Skylark shall
not be held responsible for any mishap occurring off the
school premises. |
| Entry Visa Requirements |
| All students requiring visas must fill out the Visa
Entry Form available from the Maltese Government by
clicking VISA (in English only). Visa Entry Form is to
reach Skylark not later than 15 days before student’s
scheduled arrival. All visas are initially issued for
ONE month. Should a visa extension be required while
student is in Malta, Skylark staff will help and guide
student. Once the student or agent has booked and paid
for the course, Skylark will provide the student with a
letter of acceptance which will be faxed or emailed to
student. Once the Visa is granted, the Student needs to
present, visa confirmation letter, 2 passport photos and
applicable fees to Immigration Police on arrival in
Malta. Immigration Police will then stamp student’s
passport with visa stamp. |
| We recommend that students |
| Apply for visas at their consulate in their respective country or at the Maltese Embassy before proceeding to Malta. Have approximately Lm 40 - Lm 50 spending money per week to cover entertainment, transport and shopping expenses. |
